SHARP
The SHARP (Sleep for Health, Healing, and Relapse Prevention) program designs compelling, effective, and accessible nonpharmacologic interventions for individuals with health problems in which sleep disturbance increases suffering, impairs recovery, or increases risk for relapse. The videos included on this page are intended to introduce SHARP to program partners.
The first video introduces the Sleep for Health, Healing, and Relapse Prevention program. It is about 10 minutes long and reviews the background, rationale, and basic principles underlying the program.
The second video provides a preview of the SHARP Insomnia Intervention. It begins with a 4-minute explanation of the nature of the intervention, followed by the pilot project version of the video intervention, which is just under 25 minutes long.
The third video provides a preview of the SHARP Sleep Hygiene Control. This video is used as an active control condition in SHARP research. This video teaches six lifestyle behaviors known to influence sleep but the modification of which has been shown ineffective in evoking clinically significant change in insomnia. This video is just under 25 minutes long.
